Daniel Caesar’s 2017 album Freudian was filled with great tracks that simply begged to be repeated. One of the many standouts was easily the “Best Part” featuring H.E.R. that hit platinum. The song that is now an all-time classic touches on the deep feelings of love for your partner, especially during the honeymoon phase. 

H.E.R., born Gabi Wilson, uploaded a video to her Instagram feed from back when the duo was in the studio recording the beloved song that won a Grammy. “Found this clip in my camera roll from two years ago today when me and [Daniel Caesar] wrote Best Part,” she captioned the short clip.

“He was in the booth recording and I was singing along while recording this video lol. Crazy how far we’ve come with this song. We didn’t know it at the time but I think we made a record for generations to come and with that, our music will live on long after we’re gone. That’s what Its about.”
