Russ comes through with a brand new smashing hot and dope single track entitled “Civil War“. If you know Russ, you know he boasts a plethora of talent and skills. Few Artists can say they produce, mix, and master their music all on their own, however Russ is one of the rappers who does just that.
With his last full album Zoo having been released in September 2018, fans were left wanting more. Over the past few months, Russ has steadily returned to the game, dropping new music and videos for his fans.
After dropping his “All I Want” video for the project he worked on with Nigerian artist Davido last month, the rapper/producer is back today, almost 2 years (to date) following the release of his major label debut album There’s Really A Wolf, with a vacation-esque video to his single “Civil War”, that has us craving the sun and the dance floor.
Though his lyrics hint at a heartbreak anthem, the video is far from such. Shot in Puerto Rico and directed by Russ’ longtime collaborator Edgar Esteves, the song (produced by none other than Boi-1da) has listeners bopping to the beat while thinking of texting back their ex.
The overall feel of the song and video are not too dissimilar from his last drop, but the up-tempo dance anthem still holds its own and its arrival just in time for summer will have listeners hooked. This is the kind of song(s) you wouldn’t want to miss on your playlist.
